The book of Joel is probably the earliest and most comprehensive prophetic vision concerning events not yet witnessed by history.  Particularly when overlayed to the book of Revelation, yet written many centuries earlier, this short book provides a spectacular and devastating portrayal of "The Day of the Lord," as scripture often titles the final judgments of God which will preceed the end of the age.
